Warriors name firm with sporting legacy as new partner

A company which once provided hockey sticks to the Indian team that won six successive Olympic gold medals has signed a commercial deal with Worcester Warriors.

The Sixways side have named Devon-based Aramis as their official training and digital scrum machine supplier.

The business has been involved in sport since 1927 when it manufactured top-of-the-range hockey sticks and supplied the Indian team that won six successive Olympic gold medals between 1928 and 1956.

Aramis have specialised in rugby since the 1990s, supplying clothing, kit and training equipment to clubs and schools in many different venues.

Warriors operations Director Peter Kelly said: "Aramis have a long and successful record of providing equipment to high performing teams.

"We are delighted that they have agreed to work closely with Warriors by supplying us with one of their state-of-the-art and innovative scrum machines.

"Hopefully it will help to give Alan Solomons and his coaching team the edge when they are preparing the team for matches this season."

Former England lock Nigel Horton, Aramis Rugby ambassador, added: "I am proud that Aramis now have a contract with Worcester Warriors.

"Uniquely Aramis can customize each scrummage machine and I’d like to see Warriors benefit in the seasons ahead."
